Fussilli Pasta with Chicken Alfredo Sauce
Here is an easy and fast pasta dish that you can make in less than an hour.
Prep time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
What you need:
200 grams deboned chicken breast (cubed)
¼ cup roughly chopped bacon
1 large onion, diced
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup sliced button mushrooms (canned or fresh)
250 ml all-purpose cream
½ cup water
Salt and pepper to taste
300 grams fusilli pasta (spiral pasta)
Grated parmesan cheese for garnish
Few sprigs of parsley for garnish
What you need to do:
1. Cook the fusilli or spiral pasta according to package directions. Do not overcook your pasta. Add a tablespoon of salt to the boiling water. Drain the pasta in a colander when cooked and set aside.
2. Make the alfredo sauce in a sauce pan by sautéing the onions in the butter. Cook the onions until soft and translucent. Add in the chopped bacon and chicken breast. Continue cooking until the bacon is crisp and chicken is tender.
3. Mix in the mushrooms, cream and water. Simmer for 10 minutes and adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper.
4. Remove the sauce from the heat and toss well with the cooked spiral pasta. Garnish with parsley and parmesan cheese. Serve warm.
